In May, OPTIMISM gained significant international visibility. Prof. Dr. Reza Ziarati delivered a lecture at Warwick University, supported by IMarEST, with more than 60 participants attending both in person and online. The lecture focused on the practical application of the ISM Code and sparked active discussions on how to close existing gaps in maritime safety training.

Meanwhile, the project team continued to refine training content and self-assessment modules, while the Moodle platform hosted its first set of completed modules. Dissemination activities also gained momentum, with preparations for TransNav 2025, IMLA’25, and IAMUAGA 2025 in full swing.

This period demonstrated OPTIMISM’s growing role as a recognised voice in maritime education and safety, and set the stage for further collaboration with international institutions in the months ahead.
